Find A Contractor

The Sheet Metal Industry Partnership (SMIP) collaboration of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association and the Sheet Metal Workers Loca Unionl Union 33 allows us to deliver THE UNION ADVANTAGE: First-class sheet metal and HVAC construction throughout Northern Ohio for residential, commercial and industrial customers.

“The UNION Advantage”

The union sheet metal construction industry offers real advantages to owners, sheet metal contractors and member sheet metal workers that can only come with a highly skilled, well-trained union labor workforce – provided by the union members of the Sheet Metal Industry Partnership.

ADVANTAGES For Sheet Metal Workers

SMW Local 33 members represent the very best sheet metal workers in the region – because they receive the very best training in the region through the Union Sheet Metal Industry’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC), which enables them to get the wages and benefits they deserve. Being the top sheet metal workers in the industry, Local 33 members are treated as such by their employers.

As union members, they receive some of the best wages and most comprehensive benefits in the industry … in fact, union workers like the member sheet metal workers of Local 33 are more likely than their non-union counterparts to receive higher wages and benefits such as healthcare and pensions, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

ADVANTAGES For Contractors

The union sheet metal workforce provides SMIP-member signatory contractors with significant advantages that save our contractors money – such as having access to the region’s top sheet metal workers who take pride in their craftsmanship, expanded bid opportunities and greater hiring flexibility while reducing human-resources management costs.

Union signatory contractors have access to a large pool of highly skilled union construction professionals who are recruited and trained to be quality construction workers by the Union Sheet Metal Industry’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC).

By acquiring and training the best and brightest construction-trades people available, unions provide contractors with a workforce that is second to none at tremendous cost savings.

SMIP-member signatory contractors and their union sheet metal workforce furnish thoroughly trained professionals to any construction project, so owners receive world-class sheet metal and HVAC installation and maintenance services every time – so projects are completed on time and on budget.

In fact, according to The Construction Users Roundtable (CURT), union construction work sites are 17% more productive than non-union sites.
